There are many different ways to code a website, so I'm not going to attempt to tell you all the different ways to get it done. Instead I'm going to tell you how I code websites. I don't claim to be perfect at it and there will be many other people who utilize different techniques and workflows. I'm open to making this a conversation and possibly learning different ideas or ways to improve my process.

The .htacess file is a configuration file that runs on website servers using Apache Web Server. So prior to writing this file you need to confirm that your website server is using Apache or this file will not work. The .htaccess file loads prior to your website loading and it essentially gives the web server instructions on how to behave.

At my core I'm a web developer and I feel like I can't control the process with Wordpress. In the end I could spare you the rest of this article because that first sentence is why I don't use Wordpress. I like controlling my work and understanding what everything in my code does or doesn't do. I don't want this post to sound snobbish because that isn't my intent. I just want to explain my thought process and reasoning behind utilizing a platform other than Wordpress.

I've been building professional websites for almost a decade. I enjoy the process of making a project come to life, because it is so fulfilling. I've found the projects that look the best and yield the best results are those that have professional photography.

You know the thing is I really like most Google things and I always have, but this whole AMP deal is annoying for several reasons. The number one most annoying/ ridiculous reason that I hate AMP is that when you "amplify" a page the content loads from Google's servers.
